We want to thank our friends at Berkshire Bank for presenting us with this giant check at our ReStore today! While the check (and the photos) are for fun, they represent a very real grant.
Grants from companies and organizations like this are one of the main ways we keep our houses affordable. Despite using primarily volunteer labor, despite great relationships with subcontractors and suppliers who supply heavy discounts, it is still incredibly expensive to build a house in Vermont.
Grants like these help us directly offset the cost of a mortgage for our partner families.
