ReStore Welcomes New Manager

5/24/2024

Our ReStore is thrilled to announce the hiring of our new manager, Tiffany Chestler!

With Tiffany joining us, we might have the most well rounded, synergistic, and complete staff lineup a Habitat affiliate has ever seen. Well, maybe that is talking ourselves up too much, and that is purely opinion. What is fact however, is that Tiffany is an amazing addition to our team, and we are excited to see in what ways our ReStore, and in turn our organization, is going to grow under her lead.

Tiffany’s background, paired with her love and clear devotion to our mission made her the perfect candidate for this role, and after only a few days in the ReStore, the energy is already on the rise!

With Tiffany joining us, we might have the most well rounded, synergistic, and complete staff lineup a Habitat affiliate has ever seen. Well, maybe that is talking ourselves up too much, and that is purely opinion. Tiffany’s background, paired with her love and clear devotion to our mission made her the perfect candidate for this role, and after only a few days in the ReStore, the energy is already on the rise!

After spending 18 years as a curator for a private art collection with a real estate agency in Miami, she and her husband Jeremy moved to Dorset, seeking the more relaxed and outdoor focused culture of Vermont. They had been vacationing and visiting family here for years, and when Covid hit, they decided it was time to make the move permanent.

Recently Tiffany decided to look up volunteer opportunities in the area, and immediately found us. Having volunteered a few times in the past with the Habitat affiliate in Miami, she perused our website for volunteer opportunities. She did not expect to find that there was a job opening, and that she could have the opportunity to dedicate even more time and energy to our mission.

While it may sound strange to some than an “art curator” is now a “ReStore manager,” we assure you there are many fine qualities, skills, and relevant experiences that make Tiffany an asset to our organization. For example, she once led an art installation spanning a whole neighborhood. This neighborhood was underutilized, and on the edge of being underdeveloped. Businesses were slow and/or struggling, and the locals had little to do extracurricularly.  Her unique viewpoint on community building, allowed her to take something that normally would not be seen as a community building opportunity, and made it an incredibly successful one. This then turned into many community building events, through the lens of local art. She has also had the opportunity to work with big name organizations such as Product Red, and was even recognized by and got to meet the one and only Bono!

Tiffany’s friendly interpersonal skills, curatorial eye, collaborative mindset, general business experience, and dedication to Habitat’s mission, are just a few of the many reasons we are happy, and proud, to have her on our team. Please join us in making her feel welcome, stop in to the ReStore Wednesday through Saturday to say hi!
