The Shires Young Professionals

A group of 15 volunteers at 5 greenview drive

We couldn’t be more lucky than we are, having such great volunteers and supporters. This Saturday was no different, when members of the Shires Young Professionals joined us at 5 Greenview Drive in Bennington.

We worked on siding, and prepping for interior insulation. Neither job is “flashy” or anything like that, but both are incredibly necessary. All volunteers present were positive, productive, competent, and nothing short of a joy to have on the site with us.

Not only did the Shires Young Professionals join us, but so did many other volunteers. Between Habitat staff, crew leader volunteers, individuals in the community, future home owners, and even a local reporter, there were more than 15 people working on site!

This group of Young Professionals joined us as a group for the first time last year at 49 Peggy’s Way in Manchester, and were just as helpful there as they were this year. We are thrilled to keep this partnership going, and only look forward to the future when we can work together again.

A few members of the group had prior commitments last week, so don’t be surprised if you hear us talking about a second group day with them before the end of this building season!

Thank you to all members of the Shires Young Professionals, not only for physically working on this home, but for keeping Habitat’s name out there in the hearts and minds of many local people. We couldn’t do it without you!
