Our Commitment to Global Impact

Building homes locally, and around the world.

Habitat for Humanity is a global organization, and part of our mission includes supporting housing solutions worldwide.

This is how we truly put “think globally, act locally” into play. As an individual Habitat Affiliate, our work is local. However, being a part of the larger international network of Habitat Affiliates allows us to have a global impact as well.

What does this mean for your donation?

  • Unrestricted donations
    → 10% supports Habitat’s global work
→ 90% stays right here in our local community
  • Restricted donations (you choose where it goes)
    → 100% stays local
→ Used exactly for the program or purpose you designate

If you want your entire gift to stay local, simply note that when you donate, and if you would like a portion of your gift to be used for our global work, leave the gift unrestricted, or to “general fund.”

Your gift, your choice!

Why Tithe?

The tithe program has been part of Habitat for more than 45 years, creating a cycle of generosity where communities support one another across borders.

The Tithe Program allows us to:

  • Address housing needs beyond our region
  • Support disaster recovery and vulnerable communities
  • Be part of a global effort to ensure everyone has a safe place to call home

Whether you give locally or globally, you’re building something bigger.

Images and Stories from our Global Work

CAMPO VIERA, OBERÁ MISIONES, ARGENTINA. (14/05/2025) - Portrait of Patricia Ferreyra, her daughter Guadalupe (C) and her son Jonathan in front of their house in Campo Viera, Oberá, Misiones. At the end of 2024, Patricia took part in the Health and Housing project led by Habitat for Humanity Argentina. She received a set of sanitary bathroom fixtures—a long-desired improvement for her home that economic constraints had delayed for years. The Health and Housing project in Argentina addresses the critical link between inadequate housing and health issues, particularly among vulnerable families. With poor sanitation contributing to high child mortality rates, the initiative provides training, tools, and technical support to help families improve their living conditions.
BARRIO OLAYA HERRERA, CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA (18/03/2025) - Fátima Cueto arrived in Cartagena at the age of 12, where she began building her life. At the same school her children now attend, she met Pedro Babilonia, with whom she built a family and had two children: Bleider and Bleydis. The family lived for 12 years in a house that reflects their efforts and dedication. Over time, they made several improvements, making their home more comfortable and functional. In 2025, their dream of having a better floor came true through the “100,000 Floors to Play On” initiative, which gave them the opportunity to access a dignified home. Since then, Fátima has noticed significant improvements in her daily life. She can now keep her home cleaner and more organized, offering a more suitable environment for her children.
